Axnify
Axnify vs Magento / Adobe Commerce

Enterprise features without enterprise overhead.

Adobe Commerce is powerful and complicated. It needs developers, infrastructure, and a six-figure budget. Axnify ships the same operational features as hosted SaaS.

TL;DR

Magento Open Source is free but unsupported; Adobe Commerce starts at $22,000/year and needs a team of engineers. Axnify covers the same operational ground (B2B, multi-store, multi-currency, production, advanced inventory) without the implementation contract.

Where Magento wins

We're not pretending we're the right tool for every store. Here's where the alternative is genuinely stronger.

Catalogue depth

For 500k+ SKU catalogues with complex attribute hierarchies, Magento's PIM is still the benchmark. We handle large catalogues well but Magento has decade-deep tooling.

Adobe ecosystem

If you're committed to the Adobe stack (Analytics, Target, Sensei), Magento integrates natively. We integrate via API.

Customisation depth

Magento modules allow rewriting any part of the checkout, pricing engine, or product flow. We're more opinionated. If your business logic genuinely requires platform-level code changes, Magento or open-source alternatives (Saleor, Medusa) are the better fit.

Why merchants move to Axnify
  • Got quoted £80k for a 'simple' Magento upgrade and walked away
  • Wanted enterprise features without an implementation contract
  • Magento Open Source was abandoned after the original dev left
  • Adobe pricing went up 15% and the value didn't

Frequently asked

Can Axnify handle a 100k-SKU catalogue?

Yes. The Intelligent Variant Matrix and bulk-edit tools are designed for large catalogues. The hosted infrastructure scales horizontally.

What about my custom Magento modules?

Custom modules don't port. The features they implement (custom pricing logic, integrations, workflows) need to be reproduced via our REST API or in our roadmap requests. Most merchants find 80%+ of their custom modules are already covered by our built-in features.

Are we still considered 'enterprise' on Axnify?

Our Enterprise tier (£299/mo) provides unlimited products, staff, storage, and priority support with signed MSAs. SOC 2 Type II is in progress.

Can you help me move my data from another platform?

Absolutely. Email support@axnify.com with the export file from your current platform — we accept Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, Squarespace, Big Cartel, Gumroad, Sellfy and most other common formats. Our team handles the migration of your products, variants, customers and orders end-to-end, free of charge for standard imports.
