Axnify
Axnify vs Ecwid

A full platform, not a widget on someone else's site.

Ecwid's clever trick is embedding into any website. That's also its ceiling — you're always running on someone else's frontend. Axnify gives you a complete storefront, admin, and commerce engine.

TL;DR

Ecwid is the lightest possible way to add commerce to an existing site (WordPress, Wix, Facebook page). It's not designed to be your main store. Axnify is.

Where Ecwid wins

We're not pretending we're the right tool for every store. Here's where the alternative is genuinely stronger.

Embedding into existing sites

If you already have a WordPress / Wix / static site and just want commerce inside it, Ecwid's widget is uniquely low-friction.

Multi-channel native integrations

Ecwid has invested heavily in Amazon, eBay, Instagram sync. We have a REST API to build these but the native integrations aren't there yet.

Why merchants move to Axnify
  • Outgrew the embed model
  • Wanted a real branded storefront, not a Wix page with a checkout
  • Hit Ecwid's product limits
  • Needed reviews / loyalty / subscriptions on the free or starter tier

Ecwid → Axnify

  1. 1
    Ecwid CSV export for products
  2. 2
    Customer export from Ecwid admin
  3. 3
Set up Axnify storefront — pick a theme or use the visual editor
  4. 4
Connect your domain (Ecwid stores often use a subpath; you'll get a full domain on Axnify)

Frequently asked

Can Axnify embed into my WordPress site like Ecwid?

Not as a widget. Axnify is a standalone storefront. If embedding into an existing site is critical, Ecwid is the right tool. Most merchants outgrowing Ecwid stop wanting the embed model.

What about Lightspeed Retail POS integration?

Ecwid's Lightspeed integration is unique. We don't currently have native POS hardware integration. If retail-in-store is critical, factor that in.

Can you help me move my data from another platform?

Absolutely. Email support@axnify.com with the export file from your current platform — we accept Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, Squarespace, Big Cartel, Gumroad, Sellfy and most other common formats. Our team handles the migration of your products, variants, customers and orders end-to-end, free of charge for standard imports.
